Conduct routine and complex neurodiagnostic tests, including EEG, IOM, EMG, and Evoked Potentials.
Perform Epilepsy Monitoring in the laboratory, at the patient’s bedside, or in intensive care units.
Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
Operate and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
Analyze and interpret test results, providing preliminary reports to physicians.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Applied Sciences majoring in Neurophysiology or Biophysics/Physiology or equivalent (minimum three
years course duration)
or
Associate degree (minimum two (2) years course duration) from an accredited training program as Neurophysiology Technologist And Registration from one of the following bodies: .
American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists or equivalent
American Board of Registration of Evoked Potential Technologists or equivalent.
American Association of Polysomnographic Technologists or equivalent.
The UK Registration Council for Clinical Neurophysiology
The Clinical Physiologist Registration Board of New Zealand
South African Registration as a Clinical Technologist
