The KPI Institute is a research institute specialised in business performance. It operates research programs in 12 practice domains, ranging from strategy and KPIs to employee performance, and from customer service to innovation performance. Insights are disseminated through a variety of publications, subscriptions services, and through a knowledge platform available to registered members. Support in deploying these insights in practice is offered through training and advisory services.

The KPI Institute is considered today the global authority on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) research and education. It developed the first KPI Management Framework and operates www.smartkpis.com, the result of the research program dedicated to documenting and cataloguing how KPIs are used in practice, an online portal containing the largest collection of documented KPI examples.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join us as a Center Director within our Research Division. As the core production engine of The KPI Institute, the Research Division generates domain frameworks for various areas of expertise, develops educational content, creates methodologies, and provides toolkits for consultants. Centers within this division centralize knowledge and specialized researchers, playing a crucial role in commercializing our offerings.

Your main responsibilities include:

Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the center's research agenda and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with marketing representatives to design the identity of the Center and package final products.
  • Lead and manage the research center, overseeing its day-to-day operations.
  • Build and lead a dedicated team specialized in research.
  • Develop the operating system of the center (processes, procedures etc.).
  • Monitor and report progress in reaching operational performance targets.

Expertise:

  • Initiate and coordinate research programs to develop domain frameworks for the disciplines covered by the scope of the center.
  • Oversee the development of relevant publications and research studies.
  • Coordinate content creation for educational programs.
  • Liaison with a variety of stakeholders (internal and external) to collect feedback and integrate it in the products developed.
  • Drive the formation of a community and membership for the center in the long term.
  • Ensure quality assurance for all outputs of the center.

We expect you to:

  • Masters or Advanced Degree (Ph.D.) in business management / economics;
  • Proven experience in research management, preferably related to the business environment;
  • Desired experience in KPIs and performance measurement, as researcher, lecturer or as practitioner.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management or a leadership position;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.;
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills;
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills;
  • Flexibility and adeptness at multitasking within a fast-paced working environment;
  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring thorough cross-checking for accuracy in all aspects of work;
  • Cultural competence and experience working with diverse teams, demonstrating an understanding and appreciation of different cultural perspectives;
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Experience in training delivery or consultancy services is a plus.
