We are seeking a motivated, and analytically minded Risk Analyst to join our team in Dubai. This position is ideal for individuals with 1-3 years of experience who are looking to develop their careers in risk management within the dry bulk shipping industry. The ideal candidate will have a commercial mindset, strong analytical skills, and a keen interest in maritime and shipping industry.

Risk Assessment and Analysis:

• Assist in identifying, assessing, and analyzing risks related to dry bulk shipping operations, including commercial, market, operational and financial risks.
• Support the update and maintenance of risk assessment models.
  
  

Data Collection and Reporting:

• Gather and analyze data related to shipping chartering, operations, market trends, and regulatory changes.
• Prepare regular risk reports and summaries for senior management and stakeholders.
  
  

Market and Operational Risk Monitoring:

• Monitor market conditions, geopolitical developments, and regulatory changes affecting the dry bulk shipping industry.
• Support the evaluation of operational risks including vessel performance, route optimization, and cargo handling.
  
  

Risk Mitigation Support:

• Assist in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of identified risks.
• Help monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management policies and procedures.
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with chartering, operations, finance and legal departments to ensure integrated risk management.
• Participate in cross-functional risk assessment projects and initiatives.
  
  

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, mathematics, finance or similar
• Interest in maritime industry, risk management and commodity markets.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in risk analysis, finance or related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in shipping or maritime industry is a plus.
• Experienced in using analytical tools such as Excel, PowerBI.
• Experience in programming is considered as an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills and commercial mindset to interpret market data and conduct risk analysis, and to provide support to commercial cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to translate and communicate analytical data into presentable format to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Interest in risk management, maritime industry and commodity markets is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dry bulk shipping market globally is a plus.
