ID CAD DRAFTSMAN

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The primary purpose of the job of an Interior Design (ID) CAD Draftsman is to translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings and layouts that guide the construction or implementation of interior design projects. Their role is essential in bridging the gap between the creative vision of interior designers and the practical execution of those designs on-site.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, layouts, and models based on design briefs and specifications provided by the interior design team.
• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and project managers to develop precise and accurate drawings for interior spaces, including furniture layouts, lighting plans, and material specifications.
• Prepare drawings for all phases of interior design projects, including concept, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
• Ensure that all drawings comply with project requirements, local building codes, and industry standards.
• Review and update CAD drawings based on changes and feedback from design teams or clients.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and measurements as needed to ensure accurate drafting.
• Support the design team with presentations, including creating mood boards, material boards, and 3D renderings when required.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure the drawings align with construction requirements and product specifications.
• Maintain an organized library of all CAD files and project documents.
  
  
  

VERTICAL: DIGITAL ENGINEERING

• KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an ID CAD Draftsman in interior design projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, furniture, and finishes.
• Experience working with residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of local building codes, construction standards, and regulations.
