Aldar Training Academy is currently seeking a Manager – Academy of Excellence and Extracurricular Activities to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. This role is based in Aldar Education HQ within the Aldar Training Academy team.

To embody the values, vision and ethos of Aldar Education (AE) and to assist the Aldar Training Academy team in delivering policies which will ensure high quality and successful outcomes for all student achievement programmes.
To coordinate and successfully implement the Academy of Excellence (AOE) programme each year in achieving its key aims and objectives for individual schools within the Aldar Education (AE) network through developing a high-quality programme which effectively promotes and celebrates the gifts and talents of students across these schools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, and/or Bachelor’s degree with postgraduate qualification in education (eg. PGCE).
Minimum Experience:
- At least 2 years’ Middle or Senior leadership in a school or general education setting.

Main Duties:
Student Achievement and Talent Development
- To create, develop and implement an inclusive talent programme which is open to primary and secondary aged students across Aldar Education.
- To work with relevant Coordinators and school teams to implement the inclusive talent programme, which will include providing student talent workshops on a range of activities.
- To work with Coordinators to deliver appropriate ECA/ASAs for AE schools and to develop on-going external partnership relationships with relevant providers.
- To work with Coordinators to develop and support the delivery of additional music lessons with appropriate external school providers outside school normal hours.
- To work with the Academic Director and the financial team assigned to ATA to develop accurate financial budgeting and costings for all student achievement activities, resourcing and HR requirements to support income generation.
- To work with AE departments as necessary to accommodate requests (where possible) to showcase student performances through various initiatives as appropriate.
- To work with AE departments and external providers to implement the delivery of holiday camps and AE, national and international competitions.
Student Enrichment and Community Programmes
- To work with the Coordinators of the Academy of Excellence (AoE), and other associated academies (such as Sports, PE, Performing Arts and Creative Arts academies), to promote student achievement accordingly.
- To work with Coordinators to create, develop and implement a junior version of AoE for gifted and talented junior students across AE schools.
- To work with Coordinators, school teams and, where appropriate, sport leads, to support the AoE Sport Talent Identification and Development Pathway, and to support in the creation and delivery of elite sports talent programmes, camps and tours.
- Work with relevant teams to design and implement wider community programmes. This will include coordination of winter, spring and summer camps.
- Oversee the production of termly newsletters and develop social media opportunities to ensure wider visibility of our achievements across the communities.
- Work with the academy team to promote competitions and events, including the end of year AoE presentation awards ceremony.
- Maintain database of AoE students and their relative contributions.
- Support the team with regards to administrative duties including but not limited to liaison with marketing, finance, HR.
- Be able to confidently meet with potential and current external businesses and support their induction into the relative academy as appropriate.
- Actively seek sponsorship opportunities from external business which will also develop valuable strategic partnerships with other organisations.
- To attend and take notes of essential team meetings and support the academy coordinators with regards to actions that follow.
Other Responsibilities
- To attend Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training as required
- To work with the ATA team and, where appropriate, outside agencies (such as National Governing Bodies of sports), in the development of appropriate staff training courses on student achievement and or school improvement as appropriate.
- Work closely with school leaders to support inspection preparation and outcomes related to student achievement.
- To support the wider education team in meeting group strategic aims.
- To support the School Review team with the internal Aldar Education review process as required.
- To lead by example and maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times.
- To participate in the Aldar Education continuous performance review (appraisal) scheme and work towards achieving and or exceeding of targets set – including carrying out the formal appraisal of appropriate staff.
- To undertake and carry out any other such comparable duties commensurate with the grade of the post, as required by your Line Manager and/or the Directors of Education/Sports.
Specific Duties:
- To create, develop and implement a junior AOE for younger students to promote and include the gifts and talents of all students within AE schools.
- To develop a comprehensive talent programme, open to all AE schools to promote and celebrate students’ achievement across a range of subject specialisms.
- To coordinate the talent agency newsletter highlighting student achievements across the AE network of schools.
- To have oversight of extracurricular activities (ECAs) and afterschool activities (ASAs) within the AE schools and to quality assure school offerings and to broker where possible partnerships with the best providers culminating in school recitals and competitions where appropriate.
- To coordinate and oversee the promotion of additional specialist lessons for AE schools, by partnering with established and new providers where appropriate.
- To continue to support HQ departments who require AE students to showcase their talents for specific events throughout the year.
- To establish the creation and development of holiday camps and competitions across AE and externally and with external partners where appropriate.
- To promote ATA and raise its profile in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
- To model the values and vision of Aldar Education.
- To be a role model to staff and students.
- To have high expectations of all staff and students.
- Identify professional development needs for yourself, of those you line manage or work with and address with CPD.
- To undertake and carry out any other such comparable duties commensurate with the grade of the post, as required by your Line Manager, Academic Director – ATA, School Improvement Partner and /or the Directors of Education as they occur.
