Our client is a well-known large financial services organisation based in the UAE. They are looking to hire a technically driven pure play application Delivery & Support Manager - Core Banking Platform.

Job Purpose

  • Our client has undertaken to upgrade/replace the Core Banking platform in place with the latest version of Oracle FLEXCUBE in GCC counties and in International Banking locations.
  • This job is being created to support this expansion and to reinforce the Subject Matter expertise of the new Oracle FLEXCUBE platform; the job holder will act as the Techno-Functional Expert and System Analyst and its interactions/dependencies with other bank systems and country applications/networks.
  • The Technical SME will have a range of responsibilities from analyzing the technical requirements, understanding of the infrastructure, performing product developments with extensibility / deployments to ensure that we remain the leading edge in technology. Technical SME will be expected to contribute across the full technology stack, front to back for the platform. As a Technical SME, the individual will interact with a cross-functional team and with the Product Owner, UI/UX Designers and engineers.
  • The role delivers information technology solutions to fulfil business and functional requirements.
  • Responsible for managing the SDLC of Change management in Core banking from business requirements to technical specifications, delivery, and post implementation maintenance activities.
  • Technical lead for the project responsible for SLA, schedule, budget and scope parameters, including testing & overseeing the quality and compliance controls throughout the project life cycle.
  • Responsible for managing Core Banking implementation project deliverables.
  • Developing and executing the Core Banking implementation strategy of technology by achieving objectives and goals. Responsibilities include, managing, guiding and mentoring the team and delivering unique service by providing high quality of delivery.
  • The role delivers information technology solutions to fulfil Banks business Functional and technical requirements by coordinating with multiple vendors.
  • Accountable for delivering required deliverables with respect to Project requirements during various implementation phases like Product Walk through, Scope study, Integration study, Solution Architecting, environment sizing, User Training and preparation and technical support during various testing cycles etc.


Key Result Areas

  • Manage a diversified team of professionals both onsite/offshore and outsourced who are responsible for implementing Core Banking solutions across different geographical locations.
  • Follow guiding principles of Core Banking Implementation and ensure same has been adhered throughout the project by all stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage Core Banking Implementation vendor and responsible for meet the timeline on deliverables from vendors.
  • Responsible for creating required repositories and manage version control of sources and documents.
  • Conduct system analysis and provide support in response to Business requirements.
  • Provide functional & technical expertise and recommendations in the overall solution approach, integration requirements, etc.,
  • Review and evaluate technical requirements against existing and proposed systems, providing a recommended approach to providing a solution.
  • Analysis of Technical requirement change impact to existing systems.
  • Manage Integration/Design documentation describing deliverables to meet requirements.
  • Helping the development team in explaining the Banking concept and to verify for the correct issues resolution/functionality developed by the team.
  • Manage issue resolution activities by guiding & assisting development team and building a good repo with development teams.
  • Manage Implementation of customized FLEXCUBE solutions at Bank sites, support integration/Performance/Security Testing.
  • Verify project plan, RACI matrix, production transfer documentation.
  • Monitor applications to ensure adequate system resources to process at production standards.
  • Review and evaluate business requirements against existing and proposed systems, providing a recommended approach to providing a solution.
  • Analysis of functional requirement change impact to existing systems.
  • Prepare solution documentation (System Requirement Specifications - SRS) describing deliverables to meet requirements.
  • Ability to prepare & execute Technical Design Specifications & Program
  • Actively participate in issue resolution activities by guiding & assisting development team and building a good functional repo with development teams
  • Understand the Business requirements from the Bank and effectively convert & prepare the Requirement Specifications & Functional specifications
  • Implement customized FLEXCUBE solutions at Bank sites, conduct integration testing
  • Specifications for enhancements, change request.
  • Prepare/verify production transfer documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation describing custom configuration and parameterization of 3rd party provided solutions.
  • Monitor applications to ensure adequate system resources to process at production standards.
  • Provides technical guidance, information and instruction to other IT staff requiring broader subject knowledge.
  • Interact with management and project stakeholders from various business and support functional areas.
  • Performance review and other aspects of HR management.
  • Plan and review projects, MBOs, SLAs and Incidents.
  • Ensure that the management is (at all times) informed of all risks, issues and their status.
  • Define/conduct Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans for applications under responsible domain
  • Adhere to banks operational risk policy.
  • Member of the Core banking CoE team working on assigned tasks, project activities and IT initiatives.
  • Adhere to information controls and security frameworks/procedures, including change and incident management process.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team, including, meetings, knowledge transfer and activity reporting.
  • Ability to break down complex issues and identify most important and relevant information and options.
  • Ability to present and discuss problems with others toward permanent solution.
  • Investigate and understand the cause of defects raised.
  • Interpret, understand and resolve user support issues.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Recommend solutions to system or process obstacles.
  • Responsible to design functional and technical solutions to business requirements.
  • Use effective judgement to weigh different options for achieving better results within appropriate timeframes.
  • Highlight any concerns affecting workplace deliverables.


Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Cross border team management experience.
  • Strong business orientation, domain knowledge to comprehend user requirements.
  • Strong organizational, team building and leadership qualities.
  • Engineer / Postgraduate with 12-15+ years of experience in FLEXCUBE hands on experience with product designing and implementation.
  • Minimum 8 years in team management, project management , managing core implementation
  • Knowledge of Banking domain is a must.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in FCUBS V11.x & Flexcube 14.x version delivery, development and support.
  • Experience in any banking production support (L1/L2 Support) environment is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Oracle PL / SQL programming is must.
  • Should have worked on the Product Designing and implementation with respect to Business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC process architecture, design, development and support
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience of Banking Operations in particular Core Banking, General Ledger, Loans,
  • Payments, Trade Finance and other related Banking channels.
  • Exposure of manual testing of Banking software applications is a plus.
  • Experience in Banking Production Support is an advantage.
  • Excellent Project Management Experience.
