Position: Civil Inspector (Marine) Company: Stantec Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates Contract Details: Full-time Stantec is a global engineering and design firm that provides innovative solutions for a wide range of projects in the infrastructure, water, energy, and environmental sectors. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Inspector (Marine) to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Civil Inspector (Marine) at Stantec, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of marine structures such as ports, harbors, jetties, and breakwaters. You will work closely with our project managers and engineers to ensure that all construction activities are in compliance with the project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of marine construction activities
- Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with design requirements
- Conduct material testing and quality control checks to ensure that all materials used meet the required standards
- Monitor the work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure that they are following the approved construction methods and procedures
- Identify and report any potential issues or deviations from the project specifications
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate records of construction activities
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical support to the project team
- Ensure that all safety procedures and regulations are followed on the construction site
- Conduct site surveys and assist with the preparation of as-built drawings
- Assist with the preparation of project progress reports and contribute to project planning and scheduling. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine construction projects
- Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and local regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using construction management software and MS Office
