Job Title: Chef de Partie

Job Overview:

The Chef de Partie (CDP) is responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring that dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest standards. The CDP plays a key role in the smooth operation of the kitchen, collaborating with other chefs to deliver quality meals while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a specific kitchen section (e.g., grill, sauté, pastry) and ensure its smooth operation.

Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurants recipes and standards.

Assist the Sous Chef in menu planning, ordering supplies, and training junior staff.

Ensure food quality and presentation meets the required standards before being served.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station at all times.

Comply with food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.

Monitor and control stock levels to reduce waste and ensure fresh ingredients.

Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, such as Commis Chefs or kitchen assistants.

Participate in kitchen meetings and contribute to the improvement of processes and menu items.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and culinary equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Attention to detail, especially in food preparation and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
