Senior Accountant
Reporting To
Finance Business Partner
Overall Scope of role
You are responsible for the management of, for specific clients, the accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analysing financial data/activities, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information to enable the Client to make sound business decisions and meet their Company’s objectives.
Functional Responsibilities
- Client Support
- To stay within the scope of the client agreement, providing the services agreed within the client hours set
- Reporting weekly on hours spent, advising Manager when client hours need to be adjusted
- Liaising with the client, advising an educating the Client in how to interpret their financial data
- Contract outside services for auditing preparation, accounting systems, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
- Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings
- Financial reporting
- Provide financial reports
- Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the Company’s actual performance compared to the business plans
- Manage the preparation of the company’s budget
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
- Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
- Research and analyse financial reports and market trends
- Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
- Responsible for the month-end entries and reconciliations
- Accountant Management
- Liaise with Accountant team (if present) to collect the data required to complete the Financial reporting
- Educate and train the Client Accountant/Accounts team to aid their development and to ensure that the data provided is accurate
- Implement a client internal financial framework to maintain compliance
- Federal Tax Authority (FTA)
- Monitor all changes to FTA regulations and communicate to the team
- Liaise with CTC support team with an VAT questions and follow up until conclusion
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
- Team Administration
- Responsible for own administration, maintaining the Microsoft teams system with client information
- Maintain own and central diary
- Provide accurate timesheets weekly
- Attend and contribute to the team meetings
- Provide support in colleagues absence with their clients
- Day to Day coaching/ training of junior staff in the team
- Review work of the accountant when working on the same client
Educational Qualifications
BS degree in Accounting or Economics, professional qualification such as CMA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
Number Of Years Of Experience
At least 3 years of experience within the financial sector, with at least 1 years’ experience within the Middle East
Previous experience in the corporate finance sector with previous possible roles such as accountant
Technical Qualifications
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
Experienced at using many different accounting systems
Skills & Abilities
Strong Microsoft Office
Excellent Excel skills, working knowledge of pivot tables, VLook up
Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
Used to dealing with multiple Companies

Excellent spoken and written English, French an advantage
