We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join the IT department of one of the leading schools in the region. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled candidate to maintain our digital assets, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency for our staff. The successful candidate will report to the Head of IT Service Management and provide critical IT support services.


Job Purpose:

As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the optimal performance of the school’s IT assets. Your role will involve proactive maintenance, responding to user queries, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) to resolve any issues promptly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage Active Directory user accounts.
  • Provide support for collaboration and document-sharing tools.
  • Set up and maintain multi-factor authentication for staff services.
  • Manage mobile devices via MDM platforms (Windows & Apple).
  • Install and oversee end-point security/anti-virus solutions.
  • Assist staff with in-classroom and online IT issues.
  • Configure and maintain print management solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and support Access-Control and CCTV systems, liaising with vendors as needed.
  • Understand PC/laptop hardware components and provide troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Work with the Network team to resolve Wi-Fi/internet issues and recommend solutions.
  • Deploy operating system images.
  • Provide Level 1 support for classroom devices such as smart monitors, projectors, and Apple TVs.
  • Ensure that all user issues are logged and tracked within the Helpdesk system in accordance with approved SLAs.


Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience with print management solutions (Xerox or Canon).
  • Knowledge of MDM solutions like JAMF.
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, and iOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Seesaw, Showbie) is a plus.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure.

Exceptional service delivery skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both users and leadership teams.
