Job Description

  • Work closely with project managers to plan and coordinate the transportation and delivery of the required goods. This includes identifying the most suitable transportation routes, considering regulatory requirements, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Actively involved in project bidding and supporting sales team, negotiating with suppliers to designing operational efficiencies and cost objectives to win contracts. Posses Market intelligence in trends and supply/demand
  • Involve a combination of different transportation modes, such as trucks, ships, barges…etc. The choice of transportation mode depends on the nature, size and weight of the cargo, as well as the project's location.
  • To ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of the cargo, utilizing specialized equipment like cranes, roll-on/roll-off vessels, or heavy-lift helicopters.
  • Involves obtaining the necessary permits, licenses, and clearances for transporting oversized loads or hazardous materials. Involved in Method Statements, CPAs, planning…
  • To ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations to avoid legal issues and delays
  • Actively manage risks associated with transportation, including potential delays, damage, loss, or theft of the cargo. To implement measures to mitigate these risks, such as insurance coverage, tracking systems, and contingency plans.
  • To optimize costs while ensuring efficient transportation and timely delivery. This involves analyzing various cost factors, such as transportation routes, equipment selection, and consolidation of cargo to minimize expenses.
  • Working on engineering documents such as drawings, MS, risk assessment etc.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting. Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle and implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Select and manage suppliers and vendors for transportation, warehousing, and other logistics services. Ensure contracts are negotiated and adhered to.
  • Ensure that cargo handling, transportation, and storage meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement quality control measures and inspections as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, issues, and resolutions. Facilitate effective communication between team members and departments.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project objectives within budget constraints. This includes managing personnel, equipment, and other resources efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, invoices, reports, and compliance documentation. Generate regular reports for stakeholders on project status, performance metrics, and financials.
  • Address issues and conflicts that arise during the project promptly and effectively. Develop solutions collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains throughout the project lifecycle. Implement best practices and lessons learned for future projects.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded. Provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or feedback promptly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Mechanical Engineer or any other engineering degree related to the targeted operations)
