Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, service, repair and test a variety of GPS and laser range finder assemblies, subassemblies and/or components outfitted to military vehicles .
- Ensure that all GPS and laser range finder assembly, subassembly and/or component maintenance inspections, servicing, rebuilds, overhauls and repairs are accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs and OEM specifications.
- Perform quality maintenance repairs as part of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System program.
- Perform GPS and laser range finder assembly, subassembly and/or component maintenance inspections to determine the extent of repair and spare parts requirements.
- Perform GPS and laser range finder assembly, subassembly and/or component troubleshooting using special tools, diagnostic test equipment and/or test benches.
- Replace a variety of relays, regulators, control boxes, switches, diodes, modules, printed circuit boards etc. outfitted to a variety of GPS and laser range finder assemblies, subassemblies and/or components .
- Ensure all maintenance order spare parts residue is returned to the Electronics Workshop store.
- Perform GPS and laser range finder assembly, subassembly and/or component spare parts research to ensure that only required spare parts are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.
- Complete maintenance related documentation such as maintenance tasks accomplished, direct labour hours consumed, vehicle specific information, spare part request forms, etc.
- Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
- Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
- Support other members of the Electronics Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, Electronics Workshop.
Experience and Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience performing general electronic GPS and/or laser range finder assembly, subassembly and/or component repair is required.
- Previous military experience or GPS/laser range finder training is an advantage.
- The ability to interpret complex electrical and/or mechanical schematics is preferred.
- Previous experience using state-of-the-art diagnostic testing equipment is an advantage.
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and SAP is preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
