Job Purpose

Functional responsibility:

  • Provide expert advice and assistance on LivaNova equipment and devices to distributors and customer representatives within the region.
  • Be involved in regional department planning, including the development of service programs, competitive analysis and department strategies.
  • Responsible for the regional service training for distributors’ engineers, certifications and recertifications.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical service during installation of equipment (Including external devices, network, and Hospital Information Systems (HIMS) connectivity), and to resolve equipment and other technical issues, especially when local expertise cannot perform such tasks independently.
  • Provide schedule maintenance and equipment troubleshooting in territories where local expertise is not available or cannot complete the task independently.
  • Be the expert on this specific product line, responsible for building up and standardize spare parts inventory management, and service protocol.

Major Accountabilities

  • Comply with the compliance/ethics/code of conduct requirements of LivaNova Group; ensure people are conducting business in a fair and ethical fashion. Individuals in this role interpret and enforce company policy, procedures, and business practices;
  • Develop, implement and co-ordinate the service strategy and plan in the Region, included but not limited to:
  • Installation of capital equipment and devices, including connection of external devices, network and HIMS.
  • Installed equipment and devices routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. This includes external devices, network and HIMS connectivity.
  • Refine and improve an installed CP equipment Regional Database.
  • Develop and maintain a customer satisfaction program.
  • Implement Complaint, Field Change Order (FCO) and Field Engineering Note (FEN) with Headquarters.
  • Provide the training support to the distributors' technical team, including certifications and recertifications.
  • Develop a service team:
  • Be responsible for people selection, training and development.
  • Leverage the internal resources to continuously develop the team competency.
  • Provide any type of technical services, especially when local expertise doesn’t exist or is not able to complete the services independently.
  • Be responsible and accountable for all assigned company assets including tools, test equipment, inventory, computers, pagers, corporate cards, documentation, intellectual property, etc.
  • Complete documentation, and administrative tasks per organizational policies and procedures in a timely manner.
  • Develop Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) documentation for LivaNova employees and customers.
  • Be responsible for maintaining financial cost effectiveness within assigned territory;
  • Accomplish other assigned tasks by line managers.

Ideal Background

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.

Languages

English: good spoken & written;

Fluency written and spoken Arabic is preferential.

Experience/Professional requirement

  • Proven experience in field service engineering or related field.
  • Proven years’ experience in managing teams and project management.
  • Experienced in related medical devices, preferentially Livanova equipment and devices.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region for up to 50% of the time
  • Holder of a passport issued by a country which is not banned from travel to any of the countries in the region, which doesn’t require complex travel visa procedures within MEAR, and that is easily eligible for a Schengen visa.
  • IT skills: Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft SQL and Windows user management. Experience with HL-7 and connectivity of devices with HIMS is preferential
  • Able to use logical methods to identify and solve equipment, software and operating system problems quickly and accurately.
  • Demonstrates self-starter with the ability to proactive plan, schedule and develop own work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating knowledge and understanding of compliance topics
  • Good people management skills.
  • Able to work effectively with co-workers and customers.
  • Self-motivated, problem-solving attitude, quick in action..
