Job Purpose:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing research projects related to the digital economy of Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy team. They will lead project teams, oversee project budgets, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure that research projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard. The Project Manager will report to the Manager of Digital Economy Competitiveness and Research Department and will be responsible for ensuring that research projects are aligned with the department's strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Digital Economy Competitiveness and Research

  • Lead projects in the planning, execution, and delivery of research projects related to the digital economy in Dubai.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy team.
  • Monitor and control project progress, identifying risks and issues, and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that research projects are conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines and best practices.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and that cost-saving measures are implemented where possible.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy team.
  • Develop and implement project management processes and tools to support efficient and effective project delivery.

  • Prepare and present progress reports and project status updates to the Manager of Digital Economy Competitiveness and Research Department and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure that research projects are delivered to the required standard and that results are disseminated effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for new research projects and collaborate with stakeholders and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy team to develop project proposals.

 

Information Security

  • Adherence to the information security policies/processes/program and for reporting any security breaches or incidents to the direct management.

 

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, processes, and practices considering ‘international leading practices’ to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Provide critical input to support the development of department’s systems, policies, processes, and procedures to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure team members comply with all department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality services.

 

Reporting

  • Prepare relative reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the departmental requirements, policies, and standards.

 

Others

  • Other relevant tasks of the job purpose when, and if required.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in technical / engineering or relevant field
.

Minimum Experience and Skills

  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in digital industries demonstrating progressively greater responsibility
  • Working knowledge of local and regional digital business environment
  • Excellent communication skills
