Job Summary:


Emergency Medical Technicians are first responders who assess medical emergencies, provide immediate care, and transport patients to medical facilities. They operate under protocols to stabilize patients, offering treatments like CPR, wound management, administering oxygen, and assisting with childbirth. EMTs work closely with paramedics, hospitals, and other emergency services to ensure patients receive appropriate care.


Responsibilities:


  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls, drive to the scene, and provide basic life support (BLS) such as CPR, AED use, ventilation, and preventing shock or severe bleeding.
  • Patient Assessment: Evaluate the extent of injuries or illness, including performing ECGs, and administer treatments like oxygen, oral glucose, and epinephrine for anaphylaxis.
  • Patient Transport: Monitor and reassess the patient during transport to the hospital, ensuring care is provided as directed by medical control.
  • Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the ambulance and medical equipment are operational, clean, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Collaboration: Work with paramedics, hospitals, police, fire departments, and other personnel to deliver emergency medical services.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care, complete reports, and ensure compliance with medical, safety, and infection control regulations.
  • Training & Compliance: Attend training programs, follow protocols, and operate within the defined scope of care by state and local regulations.


Qualifications:


  • A graduate of internationally recognized EMT – Basic course or equivalent with minimum 4 weeks duration and valid BLS Certification.
  • At least two (2) years of experience.
  • Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential
