Job Summary

A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, as well as food items, while providing excellent customer service. The role requires attention to detail, a passion for coffee, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare Beverages:

  • Brew coffee, espresso, and tea according to company recipes and standards.
  • Create specialty drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, and iced beverages.
  • Handle beverage equipment, including espresso machines and grinders.


Customer Service:

  • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take and process orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Address customer questions and complaints, ensuring satisfaction.


Food Preparation:

  • Prepare and serve pastries, sandwiches, and other food items, if applicable.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.


Maintain Cleanliness:

  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and customer areas regularly.
  • Restock supplies, including coffee beans, cups, syrups, and other items.


Cash Handling:

  • Process payments, handle cash, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer records.


Inventory and Stocking:

  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock shortages.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries and organizing stock areas.


Qualifications And Skills

Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in a café environment is preferred but not required.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills.
