Your role and responsibilities

ABB's Service Division partners with our customers to improve the availability, reliability, predictability and sustainability of electrical products and installations. The Division’s extensive service portfolio offers product care, modernization, and advisory services to improve performance, extend equipment lifetime and deliver new levels of operational and sustainable efficiency. We help customers keep resources in use for as long as possible, extracting the maximum value from them, and then recovering and regenerating products and materials at the end of their useful life.

As a Service Engineer you will execute, service orders for testing , commissioning , service for MV & LV and site support under instructions from Project Manager / Service Manager following Company Procedures and Customers requirements, in compliance with safety, technical and contractual requirements. In addition, also to grow the service business with defined customers.

Number of Site calls – 4-5 per week depending on requirements defined by Project Manager / Service Manager

Number of projects/year: from 40 to 50

Number of team member managing up to 4 for the MV / LV sites

Work model: onsite

Your responsibilities:

• Participate for MV Switchgear and LV Switchgear installation supervision, wiring modification whenever required and testing .
• Receive the project documentation and all the Technical information necessary to start the installation supervision activity.
• Fill in the Site report and agree the actions with the Project Manager / Service Manager prior to site testing or modification
• Accomplish the requested preliminary activities like permissions, Gate pass , power on/shutdown permits , application programs download and documentation check using the proper software tools and instrumentation, according to Company testing procedures
• Verify the correctness of all the hardware connections between the system (MV Switchgears / LV System, Operator Interfaces and other network devices) under test making sure that the installed cables and wiring are made according to the related documents and are working properly
• Properly install and verify the correct functionality of all the installed devices in accordance with FAT results using diagnostic and application tools and following the project documentation as reference
• Feedback to Engineering department for project management or improvements in schemes, corrections of drawings or any other modifications if required by customer at site after supply.
• Solve hardware and functional incongruence and mistakes is any found during Site testing phase, modifying the wrong hardware
• Obtain the S.A.T (Factory Acceptance Test) certificate from the Customer at the completion of the job, eventually with the list of the pending items not yet completed, in cooperation with the Project Leader and the Project Manager
• Collects all the update documentation at the conclusion of the testing job and send it to the project Manager for the delivery of the “As tested ” documents to the Engineering Department if changes have been made in agreement with Engineering Department
• Attend, together with the Customer, third party devices official testing when included in the scope of supply directly at sub suppliers premises
• At the end of the testing phase cooperate with Project leader and Project Manager for the delivery on site of the system, giving proper instruction to the Company shipping department.
  
  
  

Qualifications For The Role

• Electrical Diploma or ITA
• More than 5 years of professional experience in the LV Switchgear MNS switchgear experience and 3 years of past experience for MV 11KV , 33KV installation , VD4 , MV switchgear service field of application or similar fields (i.e. commissioning)
• Knowledge of the most common testing tools (hardware and computerized)
• Knowledge of Safe working procedures at site
• Attitude to interpersonal relationship, flexibility, team working and problem solving skills
• Fluent English is mandatory
