The Production and Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the production and maintenance teams to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity within the pump manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities And Main Duties
- Supervise Production Operations:
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of production targets.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize production efficiency.
- Maintenance Management:
- Supervise maintenance staff in performing routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly to avoid production delays.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all production and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or near-misses, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Team Leadership:
- Train, mentor, and evaluate production and maintenance staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts to maintain a motivated and productive workforce.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections to identify and address defects.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and refine quality improvement initiatives.
- Resource Management:
- Manage inventory levels of tools, jigs/fixtures, spare parts, and consumables to support uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with procurement team and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Participate in preparation of budgets for production and maintenance activities, optimizing cost efficiency.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience in Manufacturing, Production and Pump maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with systems & methodologies used in manufacturing include LEAN Six Sigma and CI tools (such as problem solving tools, 5S, TPM, VSM, Kaizen, etc.).
- Solid knowledge centrifugal pump’s types, characteristic curves, problems and components.
- Solid knowledge in understanding machine design/drawings.
- Proven problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of CNC machines, Dynamic Balancing machines.
- Experience in working in a multi-national and matrix environment.
- Highly organized and focused on meeting goals and objectives.
