Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our Project and Developments team at Knight Frank Middle East. This role is pivotal in supporting the design and planning phases of various real estate projects, ensuring accurate and high-quality technical drawings and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of architectural and engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and plans based on project requirements. The ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project goals and specifications.
- Follow specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
- Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
- Perform calculations for materials and weight limitations.
- Communicate with architects and engineers, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.
- Prepare, review, and redraft alongside the engineering team.
- Ensure final designs are compliant with building regulations.
- Identify and communicate potential design problems to the rest of the team.
- Drive to fix the ultimate root causes to drive sustainable change.
- Participate in all QA/QC procedures set forward by Head of P&DS.
- Manage and update project logs, issue client reports.
- Work closely with clients, design teams and contractors to optimize solutions.
- Demonstrate a track record in delivering high quality services from inception to completion.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Other tasks required.
Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum of a Degree Qualification in in a relevant field.
- 10 years’ experience in similar industry, at least 5 years in United Arab Emirates (Preferably Abu Dhabi).
- Extensive Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) with relevant software degrees/Certifications.
- Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential.
- Major international project experience is essential.
- Preferably have PMC/PMO experience within a reputable PMC International firm.
- Ability to work with Design and Project management software.
- Broad background of workplace and different design services.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures.
- Having a structured approach to problem solving with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
- Understanding of regional business culture and regulations.
- Ability to understand and make use of computers and information technology (Knight Frank internal systems).
- Local driving license required.
- Software: Microsoft Office programs to an advanced/proficient level.
- Language skills: Fluency in English, written and verbal. Fluency in Arabic or other languages is advantageous.
- Travel: Flexible attitude towards travelling.
