Technical education: Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation discipline with 5 years relevant experience.
Familiar in Electrical Distribution Systems and its control components
Exposure in Electrical and Instrumentation systems in Industrial plant environment tools and appliances.
Familiar in Electrical safety systems, including ATEX, LOTO, Earthing/Grounding
Exposure in CMMS systems and MS office applications
Good verbal and written knowledge of English
Must be a team player collaborating to achieve department objectives
Ability to interpret technical drafts and to read complex drawings
JOB AIM
The E&I Maintenance Technician will be responsible for conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical & process equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems while applying theory and related knowledge to install, rebuild, or repair as needed
The position coordinates closely with the operations teams for maintenance support to ensure business and organizational objectives are achieved
VHFL operates on a 24x7 day per week basis. There are both day (Monday thru Friday) assignments and shift assignments. It is expected that all of our E&I Maintenance Technicians fill both day and shift roles as required.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Carries out maintenance activities in compliance with the VHFL SHE Regulations
Observes, points out and reports unsafe situations and rectifies them where possible.
Install, maintain, and repair industrial control systems and power distribution systems including electric motors, motor control devices, variable speed drives, generators.
Responsible for preventative maintenance and calibrations to all electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment
Maintain computer equipment including SCADA/DCS system, programmable logic controllers, UHF radios, fiber networking, and process systems
Maintain accurate equipment files such as maintenance and inventory logs, manuals, and blueprints.
Lead and/or participate in root cause analysis for operating problems including the identification of contributing causes for equipment failure/breakdowns and work to eliminate the root cause for continuous improvement
Effectively utilize and maintain the Infor CMMS System, including following all computer based and paper processes for wok order completion and documentation
Repairs and replaces defective parts in motors, generators, storage batteries, switchboards, controllers, conductors, switches and other industrial electrical fixtures in making additions, extensions and modifications in electrical systems;.
Isolates and resolves equipment and system failures in the field, performs bench repairs at the component level in a shop setting, troubleshoots, aligns and calibrates equipment with such devices multimeters, oscilloscopes, meggers, amp meters, micro-computers, and other specialized test equipment.
