Position Overview: We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and assist in providing cost management and quantity surveying services for various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical skills, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for learning and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pre-contract and post-contract cost management and quantity surveying tasks.
  • Develop and refine take-off skills, focusing on both accuracy and speed.
  • Support the preparation of budget estimates, pre-contract cost estimates, and various stage cost plans.
  • Help formulate Bills of Quantities according to standard formats.
  • Contribute to the preparation of pre-tender cost estimates and tender evaluation reports.
  • Assist in reviewing and negotiating prices with contractors under supervision.
  • Support the preparation of contract documents and review of payment valuations.
  • Aid in managing project change control for additional works.
  • Participate in cost reporting processes and assist in preparing budget vs. actual cost reconciliation reports.
  • Learn to use CostX or equivalent software for measurement tasks.
  • Support pricing and checking of additional works and post-contract cost estimates.
  • Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts for all project stages.
  • Contribute to supply chain management processes as required.
  • Attend commercial meetings with project stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Assist in preparing Final Accounts and support contractor negotiations.
  • Represent the company professionally and diligently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of pre and post-contract technical cost and commercial management.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Willingness to learn and use cost estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Plan Swift, Bluebeam, or Candy).
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards Associate or Member status of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Internship or entry-level experience in the Real Estate sector.
  • Familiarity with Construction, Fit-out, and/or Renovation projects.
  • Interest in working in the Middle East (not essential).
