How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Head of Legal for Egypt will lead and manage the legal department, providing strategic guidance, consultation, and support on a comprehensive range of legal and regulatory issues. This role is pivotal in ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and facilitating business operations in alignment with local laws and corporate policies.
Develop and implement the legal strategy for Egypt in alignment with the regional and global legal strategies.
Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring continuous professional development.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including corporate governance, industry-specific regulations, and internal policies.
Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Oversee the implementation of compliance programs and training for employees.
Provide legal support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including contracts, license to operate matters and other business transactions.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements to protect the company’s interests.
Manage and oversee all litigation and dispute resolution matters.
Work with external counsel to represent the company in legal proceedings.
Develop strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and cost-effectively.
Monitor and analyze changes in legislation and regulations that impact the company’s operations in Egypt.
Advise senior management on regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of necessary changes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government authorities, regulatory bodies, and business partners.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and other departments on legal matters.
Promote a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization.
Ensure that all business practices are conducted in accordance with the highest ethical standards.

Are you a MATCH?
Apply if you have a Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred and ideally a valid legal qualification or Master Degree too, combined with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within a corporate legal department and a business law firm.
- Outstanding communication skills will be necessary in both English and Arabic.
- For this role, you will need to have Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels where you will act with a proactive and results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving process improvement.
- You are familiar with the legal landscape in Egypt and manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- You have an In-depth knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks and a Strong understanding of contract law and contract management. You analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
