Job Purpose

Oversee & manage the operations of the Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC) in a multi-hub, multi-airline business model. This role is responsible for leading and motivating the IOCC team across Hubs, ensuring seamless coordination and communication, liaising closely with other departments, and making informed decisions to optimize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the IOCC team, ensuring effective coordination and communication.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the IOCC, ensuring adherence to operational standards and procedures, and cost -effective practices.
  • Manages the IOCC's manpower planning, utilization and rostering/allocation in line with business operational needs and in compliance with industry specific regulatory/legislative requirements ensuring Company’s objectives for cost reduction, safety, and security are achieved.
  • Develops standardized operational procedures that can be consistently applied across diverse operational environments and hubs.
  • Collaborates with various departments, to ensure seamless integration of operational activities.
  • Establishes clear communication protocols and escalation procedures to ensure timely and effective information flow across multiple hubs/ airlines.
  • Implements robust technology infrastructure to support real-time data sharing, collaboration tools, and decision support systems.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Regularly reviews and optimizes operational processes, identifying areas for streamlining, reducing redundancies, and eliminating unnecessary expenses.
  • Fosters a culture of cost-consciousness within the IOCC team, encouraging employees to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize operational effectiveness.

  • Guides during operational irregularities, disruptions, and crisis situations, maintaining a calm and decisive approach.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of operational strategies and policies aligned with the airline's overall goals, emphasizing cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
  • Analyzes operational data, identify trends, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Continuously evaluates and optimizes resource allocation, ensuring the right resources are utilized at the right time and in the most efficient manner.
  • Provides direction, coaching and guidance to team members for their career and professional development.
  • Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team.
  • Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures; Manages performance of respective teams

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. Overall 10+ years of experience in the aviation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and operational procedures in a multi-hub, multi-airline environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant aviation software, including crew management systems, flight planning tools, and operational data analysis.
  • Ability to identify and assess operational risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues and ensuring a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Understanding of cost-sharing models across multiple airlines.

Work Experience

Overall 10+ years of experience in the aviation industry. A minimum of 3 years spent managing an operations center at a medium or large, scheduled or charter airline. Experience in a multi-hub, multi-airline business model or a similar complex operational environment would be an advantage.
