The primary responsibility of this role, as FGT Technician, is to maintain Safety and Security equipment within established guidelines and perform preventative maintenance on all installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of Fire & Gas system, Telecommunication systems such as CCTV, Public Address, Hot Line, Access control systems, Telephone network equipment and accessories including telecommunications Fibre and copper cables network. In the assigned operating plants adhering to the work specifications and HSE&Q measures.
Ensuring the required availability for operation by following P3M programs and an efficient, effective, and safe work execution in time and according to the required company policies and quality standards.
Carries out skilled maintenance, calibration and repair work on a variety of fire, gas and security systems deployed at the Borouge facilities, on stream, off stream and portable. The scope also includes maintaining functionality of all FGT systems inside and out the buildings of non-process areas.
Key Accountabilities
MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT
Perform periodic calibration of gas detectors and testing the functionality of fire and telecom systems.
Anticipate probable failures and take corrective action necessary to ensure minimum downtime and maximum on stream time.
Perform the routine PM &CM Job for the fire system such as clean agent system by Carry out checks on LP of the Argonite and the Inergen gases in the cylinders. Also deluge system with the schedule functional test of the deluge valves and all pressure switches.
Perform the routine PM &CM Job for the security system such as CCTV system including all cameras and the encoders, decoders and operation station unites. Also PA system including all Speakers, Amplifiers and operation station unites. In addition, Access Control System, Fiber Optic Network, Outdoor Telephones & Voice &Data Network.
Maintain records of all maintenance actions taken (Preventive Maintenance and non-routine maintenance and repair activities), maintain statistical analysis records to ensure proper compliance with guidelines.
Input time and technical feedback in to SAP for each work orders.
Identify and reserve spare parts, consumable as needed for carrying out the maintenance activities.
LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT:
Keeps track of FGT Systems’ end of life and recommend modifications to extend the life or to replace it.
CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION
Analyze strengths and weaknesses of current approaches and develop new solutions to enhance reliability standards. Raise Improvement proposal as required.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Qualification
Secondary High School Education and have acquired formal three year Diploma in
Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronic or Equivalent Technical qualification.
Apprenticeship certification from reputed organization.
Fluent in English language (primarily in “Spoken English” to reasonable degree in “Written English”
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in petrochemical plants for calibration,
maintenance and troubleshooting of Fire, gas and telecom systems.
Knowledge of Industrial Communication Protocols including but not limited to
Ethernet TCP/IP, Modbus, CAN bus and HART.
Excellent communication skills.
