Job Purpose


 


To assist in the practical Occupational Health and Safety plans for the DCT and all its applicable sectors and ensure compliance by Tourism and Culture facilities, service providers and customers with Occupational Health and Safety manual and regulatory standards. Facilitate implementation of best practices and work closely with Occupational Health and Safety regulatory bodies to fulfil compliance requirements and highest safety standards.


 


Key Responsibilities



Occupational Safety Plan and Manual




  • Record and update information in Occupational Health and Safety manuals/ Management systems. Ensure provision of safe working environment through development and maintenance of the DCT’s Occupational Health and Safety Management Strategy & System (Manual, guidelines etc.) and monitor effectiveness of implementation by all sectors, Tourism and Culture entities, service providers, and customers.

  • Render support in creation of plans and proposals for the unit, coordinate with other sections in order to facilitate appropriate recommendations and seek necessary approvals from higher management.

  • Contribute in implementation of Occupational Health & Safety plans by progressing initiatives and assist in continuous improvement of Occupational Health & Safety standards across DCT entities, service providers and customers.



Risk, Compliance & Emergency Response




  • Render support in effective management of Occupational Health and Safety risks via timely contribution in OHS risk assessments to monitor effectiveness of risk management measures implemented by the DCT entities and service providers.

  • Provide support in regular compliance reviews (Occupational Health and Safety audits) to assess consistency in adherence to the regulatory requirements and guidelines.

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans to contribute efficiently to the emergency readiness of the organization. (E.g. emergency evacuation in case of fire, accident response etc.).

  • Assist in training emergency respondents (such as fire wardens, first aid providers etc.) and ensure that all staff members are well trained and fully aware of the appropriate response.

  • Participate in identifying and implementing systems to address Occupational Health and Safety training needs of company-wide importance.



Awareness & Trainings




  • Support the team in promoting awareness culture of Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements / guidelines through regular training and awareness sessions to DCT entities, staff and service providers.



Policies, Processes and Procedures




  • Follow all relevant section policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.



Collaboration




  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to the unit in order to facilitate flow of information to build awareness in those areas



Day-to-Day Operations




  • Follow the day-to-day operations set by the Line Manager in the Facilities Management section to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high quality outputs.

  • Report on a regular basis to the Line Manager on the operational activities of the unit, challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation, etc. as required  to keep the Line Manager informed and updated on the unit’s activities.



EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)




  • Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, report incidents and hazards in a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.



Change Management




  • Support the creation of culture susceptible to change management through a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ approach to DCT’s new business opportunities, participating in the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high-performance behaviours.

Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Business Administration or equivalent.



Experience




  • 0 to 2 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety field.
