Position Overview:

The Facility Manager is responsible for the effective management of the organization’s facilities, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role includes overseeing maintenance, security, space planning, and overall building operations. The Facility Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility equipment.
  • Assess and optimize the use of space within the facility to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Coordinate office moves, layout changes, and renovations, as necessary.
  • Prepare and manage the facility budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maintenance.
  • Monitor expenditures and identify areas for cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement necessary improvements.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Oversee service contracts and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Supervise and train facility staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular drills and training sessions for staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in facility management or a similar role (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in facility management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA) is a plus.
