Summary
A Strategic Planning specialist helps in developing and implementing plans to materialize the NU strategy, conducting research and data analysis to inform decisions, and aligning department goals with the overall strategy. He/she also supports in monitoring Higher education trends, provides insights into organizational changes. In this role, the employee will contribute to the development of the university's long-term and short-term strategies. The primary responsibilities will involve identifying opportunities, defining objectives and conducting analyses. The ultimate aim is to strengthen NU strategic capabilities and establish a clear strategic vision.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate in identifying local, and global developments, including economic, social, and technological changes, that may impact the university's strategic direction.
- Contribute to conducting SWOT analyses.
- Collect and analyze research findings and trends to ensure the university's strategies remain relevant and competitive.
- Assist in conducting gap analyses to evaluate the current standing in comparison to its predefined key performance indicators (KPIs), goals, initiatives, and objectives.
- Play a role in producing an annual report that includes a concise analysis and key conclusions regarding Nile University's strategy.
- Highlight major accomplishments and assess the effectiveness of our strategic initiatives to inform future decision-making.
- Prepare various reports for the Strategy management office, providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
- Understand and able to develop strategy, goals and objectives.
- Develop plans to materialize strategy and analyze business proposals.
- Provide support and insight into significant organizational changes.
Qualifications
Education, Professional Knowledge & Experience
- BSc BA / degree from a recognized university.
- Preferred educational background in business and/or management-related fields such as Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Previous experience as a strategic planner or business analyst, preferably with 3-5 years of experience, is advantageous, especially if it has been gained in the higher education sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of business operations, procedures and industry strategies.
- Understanding of market research and data analysis
- Demonstrated credibility and trustworthiness in working within a team.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in computer applications, especially statistics and project management apps
- Familiarity with the different software/ applications / systems used in process improvement such as Visio and data analysis.
- Has the initiative to self-learning & development to stay updated regarding the latest technologies.
