Job Description

Job Purpose

The development of creative concepts, graphics and layouts that showcase the GEMS brand and are attractive to a range of audiences.

Key Accountabilities

  • The development of creative concepts, graphics and layouts that showcase the GEMS brand and are attractive to a range of audiences
  • Roll out the new GEMS corporate identity globally
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts for traditional media and online
  • Using practicality and innovative thinking to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
  • Work with internal business teams (including education, enrolment, business development and marketing) to determine their requirements, interpreting their business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
  • Work with marketing and communications team, web developers and other marketing specialists to design around content and messaging
  • Adapt and grow skillset with a changing industry to sustain the organisation’s position at the forefront of the industry

Skills

Expected Experience & Job-Specific Knowledge

  • BA in Graphic Design/Related or equivalent qualification from a recognised institute
  • Excellent software skills including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop PowerPoint and any other Adobe applications
  • Dreamweaver and Flash experience is a huge advantage
  • Experience developing and designing viable creative concepts to brief, in tight deadlines and on budget
  • Knowledge of artwork/repro/print/production/finishing processes
  • An understanding and appreciation of all elements of the marketing mix
