Your Community

The Finance team is the backbone of our business and has grown from being internal accounting and finance to a major function that supports all areas of the business, including assessing financial implications from various key strategic decisions and growth opportunities.

Your Position

As a Financial Accountant you will be responsible for performing accounting processes required to maintain the integrity and standards of Adventus’ accounting and finance function by supporting the accuracy of financial statements, including the maintenance of general ledger accounts, internal reporting, monthly close activities, and general accounting responsibilities.

Your Backstory

• Proven experience within an accounting or finance role built over the past 2-5 years
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to comprehend and narrate financial and accounting records to key stakeholders
• Excellent organization skills: ability to work autonomously and efficiently
• Process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Positive attitude is key: You have a 'can do' approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to larger projects
• Proactively collaborate across internal teams to build strong working relationships that are high in trust and influence positive outcomes
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Advanced computer software skills, tools for reporting and analysis purposes
• You thrive in a flexible environment and can respond quickly when needs/ situations change
• Tertiary qualification in the areas of Accounting, Finance or Business or similar
• Completed postgraduate accreditation

It's not essential but it would be awesome if you had;

• Exposure to modelling, forecasting and budgeting
• International exposure
• Tech-savvy and a keen interest in automation
• Minimum 2-3 years NetSuite Oracle accounting systems

Your Contribution

• Completing month end accounting tasks to ensure the timely reporting of all financial information to align with internal controls
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
• Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations with required supporting documentation and follow up with outstanding items
• Complete all reconciliations including bank and general ledger.
• Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates
• Utilize spreadsheets and database tools to assist financial record keeping
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
• Assist with annual external audits to ensure compliance
• Respond to enquiries from both internal and external sources and ad-hoc duties as required
• Updating and maintaining procedural documentation
• Support with variance analysis of general ledger accounts
• Perform other duties as required to support the Financial Controller and VP of Finance
