Job Title: Accountant – Bills Receivable

Job Brief:

Accounts Receivable is to ensure the company receives payments for goods and services and records these transactions accordingly. Accounts receivable duties include ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts and resolving any discrepancies.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, cheques, and bank transfers.
  • Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales and from customers.
  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit lines; coordinating with the accounts department of customers.
  • Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfers to accounts receivable accounts; verifying totals; and preparing reports.
  • Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Ensure SOAs are sent to customers on a monthly basis.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Aging payments are followed up regularly based on the company process.
  • Preparing aging receivable reports and sharing them with the sales team for their action.
  • Prepare daily collection reports.
  • Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts.
  • Manage the invoices and DO files and highlight any missing invoices or DO.
  • Audit the scanned documents folder for all invoices and DO.
  • Follow up with the Sales team for payments that are due over 30 days.
  • Prepare weekly reports on bad debt collections and advise management on irrecoverable outstanding to be written off.
  • Any other activity assigned by management.


Job Requirements:

  • Must have an accounting Degree.
  • MBA or CPA certification is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of accounts receivable and general accounting experience. Packaging industry experience is a definite plus.
  • Computer Software skills - Tally/ Peachtree.
  • To be able to achieve less than 8 days of age for all bills receivable.
  • Working knowledge of the Arabic Language is a plus.
