Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Accountant to manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), tax compliance (including corporate tax), financial reconciliations, and consolidations. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations, supporting the finance team in day-to-day transactions, and facilitating smooth financial operations for the company
Responsibilities
Accounting Operations:
Manage the day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close processes.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of all financial transactions.
Prepare and review financial statements and reports in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Accounts Payable (AP):
Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, expense claims, and payment processing.
Perform monthly AP reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.
Ensure accurate coding and timely payments of invoices in line with company policy.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Manage customer invoicing, receipt of payments, and follow-up on overdue accounts.
Reconcile AR ledger with bank statements and maintain proper records of collections and adjustments.
Work with the sales and operations teams to resolve any customer billing issues.
Tax Compliance (VAT & Corporate Tax):
Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and corporate tax requirements.
Prepare and file VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and manage tax reconciliation.
Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities when required.
Financial Reconciliations:
Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring that discrepancies are promptly addressed.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accuracy in financial records.
Consolidation & Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for group entities.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors for financial audits.
Prepare management reports, including variance analysis and budgeting.
Systems & Processes:
Ensure accounting systems are effectively utilized, and propose enhancements where necessary.
Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for all financial records.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the technology or AI sector.
Strong experience in handling AR, AP, corporate tax, VAT compliance, reconciliation, and consolidation.
Preferred Qualifications:
CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is ideal and will be an advantage.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems).
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax regulations, as well as financial reporting standards.
Attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
