You as a Head of Service Project Management - Middle East will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Qatar, UAE. Regional management of all project execution activities in responsibility of ensuring operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, con-tract specifications, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments and coordinating and overseeing team development and standardized process development to continually improve effectiveness of project execution teams.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities

  • Driving and monitoring service execution with respect to the agreed terms of schedule, quality, cost, margin, and customer satisfaction and leading implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the regional project operation under the guidance of the global and local project management office and Business Unit management team.
  • Project Portfolio that ensuring that the regional or local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and Hitachi Energy policies and allocating, driving and monitoring work to projects based on order content, delivery time, competencies and workload and effectively utilizes available resources through proper planning and scheduling to meet delivery targets (e.g. OTD, response time, ordered service offerings, update of installed based data).
  • Instructions and guidelines that leading and overseeing the project execution teams regionally, ensuring that Hitachi Energy policies are consistently followed. Developing, customizing and continuously improves standard processes and work instructions by adopting Hitachi Energy and external best practices and ensuring that lessons learned from project execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions
  • Budget, sales & operations planning are participating in the budgeting process, jointly with Local Business Unit manager and controller and participating in sales and operations planning with other members of the Local Business Unit management team, and takes actions to close potential gaps in project execution capacity
  • Operational excellence & control that driving continuous service productivity improvement activities in the assigned service team in collaboration with the Operational Excellence team, utilizing efficient tools to streamline Service processes and applications to support the customer. Ensures the transfer of Service findings to the product or system local units for improvement of their offerings.
  • Supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfilment and approves any project deviations and taking an active role in resolving escalated issues, especially those raised by the customer.
  • Ensuring the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
  • Contract & Claims that projects consistently apply contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements.
  • Stakeholder relations that build and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Serves as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues within the project execution team.
  • Validates and supports that adequate HSE measures are taken in the respective project operations functions and that an HSE culture is implemented and maintained in the organization.
  • People leadership and development that the area of responsibility is properly organized, resourced and supervised. Project Managers are certified in line with global certification and local regulations and reviewing competence to ensure each Project Manager is appropriately qualified to handle jobs assigned to them.

Your background

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in Project Management, risk management, service level agreement management, protection, substation automation, service is preferred.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
