About Etijah

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

Program Background

The “Sports for Social Change” project aims to enhance the involvement of women and girls in sports while promoting equal access for individuals with disabilities to public spaces. This program is funded by the GIZ under the Equal Opportunities and Social Development (EOSD) program with the primary goal of creating an inclusive and safe environment that encourages sports participation. Etijah will be supervising the program as an umbrella organization for 3 different local organizations and will be empowering them with technical, financial, and capacity-building support in order to directly work with their local communities and implement sports activities. The project is implemented in over 10 local communities across three main governorates: Greater Cairo, Sohag, and Qena.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with 3 local organizations under Etijah to implement sports activities in local communities.
  • Provide technical, financial, and capacity-building support to local organizations.
  • Ensure the effective and timely implementation of the project in Greater Cairo, Sohag, and Qena governorates.
  • Monitor and evaluate project activities to track progress and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including local communities, partners, and beneficiaries, to promote sports participation and inclusivity.
  • Prepare regular reports on project activities, achievements, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project resources efficiently and in compliance with GIZ and Etijah guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of project strategies and plans in collaboration with the project team.
  • Report updates and progress to the project manager on regular basis.
  • Stay updated on best practices in sports for social change and inclusion to enhance project impact.

Required Qualifications And Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., sports management, social sciences, development studies).
  • 4 years’ Experience in project management, preferably in the field of sports for development.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and in multicultural settings.
  • Familiarity with gender equality and disability inclusion principles in sports programming.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic languages.
