POSITION SNAPSHOT

Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: 6th October

Position Summary:

Leading the Categories and drive the Quality Assurance related activities in the factory and implement all the needed food safety requirements. Carrying out assessments to verify the efficiency of implementation and develop action plans for further improvement. Carry out GMP training, motivate staff and drive the Continuous Improvement process in Food Safety & Quality Assurance while supporting the factory in specific areas of expertise: Food Safety, NGMP, HACCP, Auditing, Pathogen Monitoring, Net Content, etc.

This role is responsible for developing and managing the Food Safety Management System for Infant Cereal and Dairy Category in Nestle Egypt 6th October Factory

Working with Factory Leadership Team to ensure ongoing compliance, audits, and all QA related activities to elevate and enhance the Food Safety & Quality Mindset.

SHE:

Ensure Quality & Food Safety activities are fully aligned with SHE local regulations and corporate initiatives

People and know-how:

Promote quality awareness by delivering training for their specific areas of expertise e.g. HACCP, FSSC 22000, NGMP, FB Management relevant standards and guidelines

System design:

Define and update the specific quality procedures, instruction and tools which are directly related to their area of concern and implement Nestle quality instructions

Quality mastership:

  • Lead activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Integrated Management System requirements and other applicable instructions, standards, and support production to comply to product specific standards
  • Delivers training for their specific areas of expertise e.g., hygiene, foreign body, HACCP
  • Organizes, lead periodic HACCP reviews for his/her specific area as well as maintain QMS updated.
  • Deliver training of HACCP methodology, control measures and Lead the Factory HACCP studies update.
  • Implementation of NGMP and Conducting weekly NGMP Audits in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Ensure proper support to any new product development and represent Quality to share all the needed requirements from idea to launch.
  • Perform product daily release process according to Nestlé Quality standards and release the product after the evaluation & Quality verification.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up of any non-conformities.
  • Design/update of pathogen monitoring plan in his/her category/s area
  • Support artwork approval processes and new packaging development evaluation form QA side when needed
  • Assess Food Defense and Food Fraud in his/her specific area.
  • Promote continuous quality awareness culture and commitment to quality across the unit.
  • Define and update the specific quality procedures, instructions, and tools in technical expertise to have a clear path of the requested objectives.
  • Contribute to define and deliver quality KPIs to evaluate Quality performance.
  • Perform any other duty/tasks assigned to him/her from time to time as per the business needs.

Q pillar:

  • Ensure attainment to Q pillar master plan when assigned and initiate opportunities for defect/ waste reduction/elimination projects, following the NCE methodology and quality techniques

Quality auditing and verification:

  • Support readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Performs trouble shooting and corrective action follow-up of non-conformities.

ARE YOU A FIT?

Academic Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree of Food Science, Pharmacy or Agriculture (At least 2-4 years of experience)
  • Certified Lead Auditor in quality certifications is recommended

Operational Experience:

Demonstrated competence in their specific field to support business requirements:

  • Team member in a factory: Quality, Production Support, Application Group
  • Team member in the quality department of the Market, PTC/R&D, Centre, NRC, NQACs

Business Experience:

  • Experience in successfully implementing quality assurance programs:
  • Participating in project teams
  • Leading part of a change effort
  • Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects
  • Establishing networks of peers, in markets or factories
