About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an
Assistant Concierge Manager to join the
Concierge team at
Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Ensure exceptional guest service by maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude towards colleagues and guests, promptly addressing queries and requests, and handling complaints professionally.
- Oversee porch and luggage services, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, maximizing guest satisfaction, and adhering to standards to avoid delays, loss, or damage.
- Keep all guest-related information up to date in Opera, iPads, and Mercury, including details about restaurants, bars, airlines, shopping malls, and hotel facilities.
- Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally according to Jumeirah standards, ensuring resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure all colleagues are well-groomed, wear the correct uniform and nametag, and report for duty punctually.
- Stay informed about events, attractions, and other relevant information to assist guests and share knowledge with Front Office Teams.
- Equip Concierge colleagues with resources and ensure they receive adequate training (6 hours per month), maintaining accurate training records.
- Prepare duty rosters, attendance sheets, and vacation plans for Concierge staff, ensuring optimum coverage and control of leave allocations.
- Supervise department employees, ensuring adherence to standards and methods outlined in the Departmental Operations Manual.
- Manage departmental expenses within budgetary constraints, actively participate in team member development through IDPs and appraisals and assist in recruitment and training activities as needed.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Several years of experience in the same position within a 5-star luxury hotel.
- Fluent in English and an additional international language is a plus.
- Software competencies – Microsoft Office programs (Advanced).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, or any other relevant field.
