Electronic Maintenance Technician

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to set up, maintain, and repair electronic systems and devices, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This includes testing system performance, analyzing results, and calibrating components and circuitry while collaborating with engineering teams to enhance diagnostic processes.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Assemble, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic components, boards, and systems, ensuring optimal performance through regular preventive maintenance, upgrades and inspections.
• Test and evaluate the functionality of all electronic components, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of their functions and analyzing performance data.
• Interpret technical drawings, manuals, data sheets, and schematics to accurately perform maintenance and installation tasks.
• Document testing methods, potential issues, and necessary parts for electronic systems, while maintaining detailed logs of repairs and maintenance performed.
• Conduct routine inspections and service checks to identify defects, recommend replacements, and ensure proper operation of electronic systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to enhance repair processes, troubleshoot problems, and improve system diagnostics.
• Use appropriate tools and techniques to make accurate cable and wiring connections.
• Oversee complex repair projects while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while operating power and manual tools.
• Provide training on safe equipment use and maintenance.
• Order or fabricate replacement parts as needed.
• Communicate effectively with operators, engineers, and inspectors to resolve issues.
  
  

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Degree or completed coursework in electronics.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Ability to follow procedures or method statements and write technical reports.
• Capability to understand and adhere to complex technical manuals.
