Job Description
We are currently looking for a mid-level experience English editor to join our communications team and advise government and corporate relations clients.
The expectation for this role is to provide informative and appealing content that engages different stakeholders in a strong storytelling approach.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Understand the requirements of various teams and convey the client’s key messages adequately and appropriately through effective use of language
- Support teams by providing error-free media-worthy material
- Consult and guide client-handling teams on matters related to media requests
- Interact with team members and support them in building accurate communication measures
- Manage deadline-oriented workflow of releases, invites and requests from various team members on a daily basis
- Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques or ideas at brainstorming sessions
- Support the project manager in ensuring that resources are in place to cover delivery of all written deliverables
- Develop communications plans, strategies and provide strategic communications advisory to both corporate and government clients
- Experienced in writing press releases, OPeds and thought leadership pieces, talking points, social media content, video scripts etc.
- Comfortable in coordinating with clients when needed

- As per the Direct Manager’s requests

- Excellent grammar, editing, writing and re-writing skills;
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Literature/Journalism/Communications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Fluent in English
- Proficiency is providing error-free releases/invites that can be accepted by the media
- Ability to recognize the key messages of clients and offer effective ways to forcefully convey those messages
- Excellent English writing, editing and proofreading skills with exceptionally detail oriented
- Team player and navigates well different requests and manages team expectations on delivery time
- A creative thinker with strong communications skills and works well with different teams and under pressure
Work Conditions
The physical abilities needed to perform the duties of this position, in addition to the office climate
- Office environment is general office setting, either at Employer’s office or client’s office
- Must be based Abu Dhabi or willing to relocate
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
