Description
- The overall scope of this role is to ensure that Hotel Goods are received as per the specifications requested.
- To safeguard the financial integrity and stability of the hotel and minimize any exposure to potential risks. To receive all goods with the corresponding delivery order, invoice, and within the specifications given.
- The job of Receiving Clerk is executed satisfactorily when:
- All goods received have a Delivery Note, Purchase Order, and Invoice.
- All goods are verified against the specifications requested.
- The Loading Dock is maintained clean and organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for following and understanding all Kempinski Policies & Procedures.
- Responsible for behaving in a professional and harmonious manner and following the Kempinski code of conduct.
- Responsible for receiving all goods and checking each item for accuracy in specifications and price, as well as corresponding purchase orders.
- Responsible for ensuring that food goods received are properly handled and all hygiene standards are followed.
- Responsible for stamping, dating and signing off on all goods received.
- Responsible for entering received goods into the system when necessary.
- Responsible for checking the temperature and transport conditions of vendors trucks.
- Responsible for creating daily receiving report.
- Responsible for communicating any issues or delays with ordered goods with the corresponding departments.
- Responsible for ensuring that the loading dock is organized and clean at all times.
- Responsible for assisting the Cost Control staff during inventories.
- Responsible for performing any additional duties assigned by Management and assisting in other areas of Cost Control as needed.
- Responsible for communicating with supervisor on any discrepancies or other potential problems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 1-3 years in purchasing, receiving or storeroom functions
- Local language – excellent oral and written skills
- English – excellent oral and written skills (as applicable)
- Ability to handle high volume with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendors
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Applies a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times
- Works in a safe, prudent and organized manner
