Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Coding Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning and sequencing medical codes to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

Medical Coding Specialist, Responsibilities:
- Review medical documentation and accurately assign appropriate codes based on established coding guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations and payer guidelines.
- Research and stay updated on coding and reimbursement changes, guidelines, and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other coding professionals to resolve coding and documentation issues.
- Audit medical records and coding to identify potential coding issues and areas for improvement.
- Provide education and training to healthcare providers on coding best practices and documentation requirements.
- Assist with coding-related queries and appeals, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding.
- Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Understanding of medical billing processes and reimbursement methodologies.
- Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations, including CMS and AMA guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in coding.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Associate's degree in health information management or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical coding, such as CPC or CCS.
