Position Overview:

The Sales Engineer in the Industrial Machinery Division plays a crucial role in serving our customers by identifying their needs and fulfilling requirements in the industrial sector. This position focuses on supplying machinery tools, maintaining and building relationships with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

As a Sales Engineer for CEA, OSL, Trumpf power tools, and Herolaser (laser welding machines), your primary responsibilities will include:

- Sales and Revenue Growth:

- Drive sales and revenue growth within your designated territory or market segment.

- Promote and sell welding technology solutions, welding consumables, and power tools.

- Customer Engagement:

- Understand customer needs and provide technical expertise.

- Deliver tailored product demonstrations and presentations.

- **Business Development:**

- Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers.

- Negotiate contracts and ensure post-sales customer satisfaction.

- **Collaboration:**

- Work closely with internal teams (engineering, marketing, customer support) to achieve sales targets and enhance product offerings.

- Act as a key technical advisor and product advocate during the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.

- **Technical Expertise:**

- Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

- Identify technical issues of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

**Duties & Deliverables:**

- Proactively pursue new sales opportunities for CEA, OSL, Herolaser, and Trumpf products.

- Maximize income generation and achieve sales targets.

- Plan and establish contacts with new customers.

- Review and prepare documentation and materials for quotations.

- Coordinate the sales process from initial quotations through to deal closure.

- Lead the development of technical approvals, presentations, proposals, and contracts.

- Organize follow-up visits and provide weekly written reports on sales activities and project statuses.

- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers.

- Participate in weekly internal sales meetings to refine strategies and plan next steps.

- Report market information regarding competition, projects, and pricing.

- Prepare material requisitions for stock based on sales trends and forecasts.

- Provide detailed project reports and propose new product developments.

- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients.

- Ensure prompt and reliable service to enhance the Company’s reputation.

- Generate business opportunities to support growth strategies.

- Conduct market research to identify opportunities and threats.

- Attend networking events and trade exhibitions to promote products and gather market insights.

- Represent the Company professionally at all times.

- Maintain long-term relationships with prospects and existing customers.

- Track and report on potential markets, customer news, and products.

- Ensure all customer communications adhere to Company standards.

- Provide coaching and technical training to team members.

- Abide by the Company’s code of conduct and implement policies and procedures.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 6+ years prior work experience in Sales / Business Development or related positions.
  • Demonstrates detailed understanding of relevant products & services and regularly explains and/or delivers the products and services.
  • Prior customer service experience and the ability to understand and react to customer needs.

Skills Set:

  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate moderate to complex data.
  • Superior communication skills (listening/verbal/written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer escalation principles highly preferred. 
  • Demonstrates organizational skills to juggle competing priorities.
  • Advance MS Office skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and dealing with difficult customers in an efficient and effective manner.
