Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting

operations of the company. This includes preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance

with regulations, managing budgets, and supporting financial decision-making processes. The

role requires a high degree of accuracy, analytical skills, and leadership in guiding junior

accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets,

income statements, and cash flow statements.

Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights to management.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory

requirements.

2. General Ledger Management:

Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account

reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.

Monitor and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management.

Monitor actual performance against budgets and report variances with

explanations.

4. Taxation and Compliance:

Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., VAT, income tax).

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities as needed.

5. Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight:

Review and approve vendor invoices, employee expense claims, and payments.

Monitor receivables to ensure timely collection and maintain a healthy cash flow.

6. Internal Controls and Process Improvement:

Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and

improve financial accuracy.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives for efficiency.

7. Team Supervision and Mentoring:

Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for team members.

8. Ad-hoc Analysis and Support:

Provide financial analysis for special projects, investment decisions, and

cost-saving initiatives.

Support senior management with financial data and reports for strategic

decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or

equivalent certification preferred).

Experience:

5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a

supervisory or senior role.

Experience in auditing or working with ERP systems is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Zoho Books ) and

Microsoft Excel.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax

regulations.

Soft Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills for working with teams and presenting financial

information.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
