A Restaurant Storekeeper/Receiver is responsible for managing inventory, receiving deliveries, and ensuring that all products needed for the restaurant's operation are properly accounted for and stored.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept and inspect deliveries of food, beverages, and other restaurant supplies.
  • Verify that delivered items match purchase orders in terms of quantity, quality, and specifications.
  • Inspect goods for any damage, spoilage, or discrepancies, and document any issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, both manually and through software systems.
  • Track product stock levels and notify management when reordering is necessary.
  • Ensure proper rotation of stock (FIFO – First In, First Out) to minimize waste and ensure freshness of perishable goods.
  • Organize storage areas to ensure ease of access and efficient use of space.
  • Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and storage of products to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines when handling, storing, and disposing of products.
  • Assist kitchen and front-of-house staff in locating and retrieving supplies.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure the restaurant is adequately stocked to meet operational needs.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Ability to check for quality, accuracy, and consistency in deliveries and stock.
  • Ability to maintain an orderly and efficient storage area.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal staff.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or software is a plus.
  • Understanding of proper food handling and storage practices.
