Financial Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances using Odoo.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in compliance with Saudi GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), where applicable.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure balances match with Odoo system.

General Ledger:

  • Perform monthly and year-end closing of the general ledger.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement).
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost control analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to management.

Bank Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile company bank accounts regularly to ensure accuracy of the bank balances.
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve any issues in a timely manner.

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Saudi tax laws, including VAT and Zakat.
  • Prepare VAT reports and support in the preparation of Zakat filings.
  • Maintain records of tax-related documents and ensure timely submission to the Saudi tax authorities.

Audit Support:

  • Provide necessary documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and work with auditors to resolve any issues.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor company cash flow and assist in forecasting.
  • Assist in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring liquidity.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously review and improve accounting processes and controls.
  • Suggest improvements in accounting practices and procedures, particularly in the use of Odoo software.

Odoo System Utilization:

  • Use Odoo for managing accounting functions like invoicing, payments, and reporting.
  • Ensure proper configuration of the Odoo system to support accounting needs and provide necessary training to junior staff.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot and optimize the use of Odoo’s financial modules.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years and maximum 5-6 years of experience as an accountant, preferably within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting modules (or similar ERP systems).
  • In-depth understanding of Saudi accounting regulations, including VAT, Zakat, and tax filing requirements.
