Job Title: Payments Specialist
Division: Operations
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Contract: 6 Month contract (with possible extension - immediate start)
Visa Requirement: Applicants must already hold a valid UAE visa

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing:
    Handles local and foreign currency transactions, and manages any payment-related investigations.
  • Query Resolution:
    Responds to inquiries from other banks, raises RFIs (Requests for Information) with clients, and addresses Transaction Screening and Monitoring alerts related to payment transactions.
  • Customer Interaction:
    Engages with customers to provide assistance and resolve issues, ensuring an excellent standard of customer service.
  • Process Improvement Collaboration:
    Collaborates with product and technology teams to suggest and implement improvements in payment processes, enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Internal Team Support:
    Works closely with internal teams to resolve customer issues efficiently.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience and Knowledge:
    • Strong background in local and international payment processes, investigation, and dispute management
    • Familiarity with UAE Central Bank regulations for payments
    • Knowledge of SWIFT and related processes
    • Experience in cheque processing (preferred)
  • Core Competencies:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in situations where processes may not be clearly defined
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex procedures for customers
    • Proven teamwork abilities and capacity to support colleagues in a high-energy environment
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a startup environment, with a passion for continuous learning
  • Language Requirements:
    • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
    • Arabic language proficiency is a plus
