Senior Software Engineer

About the Role:

At Wio Securities, we are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to building cutting-edge solutions for our banking platform. As part of a dynamic, fast-growing fintech company, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and backend infrastructure of our products.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced backend engineer who has worked closely in a brokerage platforms - crypto houses, or wealth management organizations. You’ll work on designing, building, and scaling services that handle high-volume transactions, data processing, and real-time financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Backend Architecture & Design: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems for key banking features, including brokerage and investment services, digital assets, and wealth management platforms. You’ll ensure the backend infrastructure can support complex transaction flows, large datasets, and real-time operations.

🔹 Microservices & APIs: Design and implement microservices and APIs to support core business functionalities in brokerage, trading systems, and digital asset management. Collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality user experience.

🔹 Integration with Third-Party Systems: Work closely with third-party providers to integrate brokerage platforms, payment gateways, crypto exchange APIs, and other fintech services, ensuring smooth data flows and secure transactions.

🔹 Data Processing & Transaction Management: Develop systems for real-time financial transaction processing, ensuring that data accuracy, reliability, and security are maintained. Implement efficient reconciliation processes for trading transactions, wallet management, and account balances.

🔹 Performance Optimization: Optimize backend systems for high availability, low latency, and scalability. Ensure the performance of the backend can handle peak loads, particularly around trading volumes, crypto transactions, and wealth management activities.

🔹 Security & Compliance: Focus on implementing security best practices in backend systems, ensuring the integrity of transaction data, user privacy, and compliance with industry standards, such as KYC, AML, and data protection regulations specific to brokerage and crypto.

🔹 Automation & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to automating operational tasks and streamlining workflows. Continuously review and improve the backend infrastructure to enhance the speed, scalability, and reliability of the platform.

🔹 Mentorship & Leadership: Provide mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow technically and improve their coding practices. Lead by example in coding quality, architectural decisions, and best engineering practices.

🔹 Collaborative Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Compliance, etc.) to understand business needs and translate them into backend solutions. Ensure seamless collaboration with other engineering teams to integrate products across the platform.

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  
  

✅ Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in backend software development, with significant experience in a brokerage, crypto, or wealth management organization
• Hands-on experience in building and scaling high-volume transaction systems (e.g., trading platforms, crypto exchanges, or financial products).
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., KYC, AML) and how they apply to backend systems in the fintech and wealth management space.
  
  

✅ Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in backend technologies such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js, and experience building RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
• Solid understanding of databases, both SQL and NoSQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), with the ability to design and optimize high-performance, distributed systems.
• Experience in real-time data processing (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures for handling large-scale financial data.
• Strong experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies and crypto integrations (e.g., crypto wallets, blockchain APIs, crypto trading systems) is a plus.
  
  

✅ Security & Compliance Awareness:

• Deep understanding of security protocols and best practices in building secure financial systems.
• Experience working with financial industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., KYC, AML, PSD2) as it relates to backend systems.
  
  

✅ Problem-Solving & Scalability:

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing for scalability, performance, and high availability in complex backend systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues related to transaction management and data integrity.
  
  

✅ Collaboration & Communication:

• Ability to work cross-functionally with product, frontend, operations, and compliance teams to deliver backend solutions aligned with business goals.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
