Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department by performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a basic understanding of accounting principles to ensure the company's financial operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
· Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain updated records.
· Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization.
· Accounts Receivable: Assist with processing accounts receivable invoices, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining records.
· Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
· Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, statements, and summaries.
· Filing and Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and documentation.
· Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including answering phones, responding to emails, and handling correspondence.
· Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
· Expense Reports: Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Other Duties: Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
· Experience: With minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is desirable.
Skills:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
· Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
