Purpose of Job

jobholders at this level are capable of operating with minimal supervision. They work within guidelines and procedures in order to prepare more complex, specialized or ad-hoc reports in their related field. they contribute to the completion of milestones or operational targets within the assigned functional area. They undertake operational activities including supporting other functions in closing processes and developing required reports.

General Ledger


  • Developing financial statements, chart of accounts, financial position forecasts, and other reports requested by management in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Providing support to other functions regarding accounting and closing policies and procedures, effective controls, and utilization of financial resources.
  • Assisting functions in monthly, quarterly, and years-end closing processes and providing the required support and training.
  • Addressing non-compliance issues resulting from audits or / general courts of audit findings, and implementing corrective measures to mitigate risks and recurrence.
  • Monitoring the recording of transactions, journal entries, and ledger postings to assessing accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Reviewing bank reconciliations for all bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Performing periodic closing processes (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly), communicating with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, and reporting non-compliant cases.
  • Reviewing periodic financial reports to ensure the reported results align with financial reporting standards.


Organization and Operations


  • Following all relevant policies, processes, and standardized operational procedures to ensure work is executed correctly and consistently.
  • Assisting in resolving escalated issues and providing necessary support to less experienced teams to ensure efficient execution of work.
  • Escalating complex issues to the concerned person to ensure proper resolution and issue resolution in an appropriate manner.
  • Performing other tasks as required by the job.


People Management


  • Train Junior staff on various job activities to ensure knowledge transfer, when applicable.
  • Providing clear guidance, prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibility, and monitoring the workflow of subordinates/less experienced staff.
  • Supporting Junior staff or direct subordinates in executing their tasks according to established policies and processes.

Bachelor's degree of accounting or equivalent is required

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
