Requirements

  • Graduate of Civil Law/ or any related course
  • Knowledgeable of Local law
  • English proficient
  • Has some training in court
  • Familiar with civil law

Responsibilities

  • Contract Management:

The legal department is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to various projects and agreements. This includes ensuring that contracts comply with legal standards and protect the company's interests, while also addressing risks associated with project execution.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

The legal department ensures that Saipem adheres to all relevant laws and regulations in its operating jurisdictions. This includes environmental laws, labor laws, and industry-specific regulations. The department monitors changes in legislation and advises on compliance strategies to mitigate legal risks.

  • Dispute Resolution:

The legal team manages disputes that may arise during business operations, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation. They represent the company in legal matters and work to resolve conflicts to minimise financial and reputational damage.

  • Corporate Governance and Ethics: The legal department plays a key role in corporate governance, ensuring that the company adheres to ethical standards and best practices in its operations. This includes advising on board governance and shareholder rights and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to corporate behavior.
  • The candidate for the lawyer position must possess a thorough understanding of UAE laws, arbitration practices, and relevant legislation.
